Obscure Belts was founded in the spring of 2005 based on the philosophy of distinct belt design.  From the moment an idea hits the paper until the belt reaches the consumer, our designs combine art, fashion, and engineering.

Obscure Belts is the brainchild of sculptor Bryan Schultz, who has 12 years of design experience and three degrees in Sculpture – a BFA, MA, and MFA.  He began the company as a creative outlet and expanded it into one of the most unique belt buckle businesses to date. 

Our belts are different from any others on the market because they embrace the dynamic relationship of machine to nature.  Today, machines are incorporated into every aspect of our lives, improving our performance and blurring the line between the natural and the mechanical.  Obscure Belts designs on the principal that these two worlds should blend.  The early stages of our buckles are shaped with the aid of computerized design, and later assembled,transformed, and revised by hand.

Our ideas constantly push the boundaries of form and function in fashion and art.  With the help of new technologies,we are excited to reinvent the belt and satisfy consumer demand for originality.
